is a social enterprise arm of Action for Sustainable Living. Its purpose is to empower and engage Manchester businesses to ‘Be the change they want to see in the world’ by taking small steps @ work and at home to live more sustainably.

In taking the SmallSteps@Work approach businesses can enhance:

  • Cost Reduction

  • Competitive Edge in Emerging Markets
  • Corporate Image
  • Staff Involvement
  • Local Links

.... and feel good about themselves!

We are now offering FREE taster sessions to businesses who would like to find out more.

By choosing SmallSteps@Work over other environmental business consultants, your organisation will be supporting our charity's work in local schools and communities.

*We primarily work with SMEs to keep a 'localness' focus to our work, but large businesses based in the North-West are welcome to approach us for a tailored consultation.

British Muslim Heritage Centre

The BMHC is an exciting new project that hopes to promote the rich heritage of Islam to all communities in Manchester and throughout the UK. It hopes to encourage integration between faith and non-faith communities to build a strong British community.

Currently the BMHC is undergoing restoration work and is out of bounds to the public. AfSL would like to work with the BMHC to encourage sustainable decisions concerning restoration work for the Centre and for projects in the future.
