Administrative Helper

1/2 – 1 a day a week for minimum of 2 months

We are looking for a person to help with the day to day running of our office admin. Administration Volunteers support the smooth running of the Action for Sustainable Living office. This is a great role for someone looking to gain office based work experience and to gain skills in a wide range of administrative tasks.

What will I do?

  • Answering the telephone and taking messages
  • Administration support, e.g. drafting letters, typing minutes, checking finance documents
  • Processing of postage
  • Research, both web and telephone
  • Monitoring and evaluation, updating databases and recording information
  • Resource development, making new resources for events
  • Events Kits, making up events kits, replenishing stock and researching new resource providers
  • Website management, e.g. publishing events on the website
  • Become familiar with sustainability issues that relate to your voluntary role

Graphic Design Volunteer

1-2 day per week for minimum of 2 months

We’re looking for a creative and skilled person to help us develop strong visual communication materials for the organisation to further promote the great work our organisation. We are looking for a commitment of at least one day each week (from the office) for a minimum of 3 months (can discuss other arrangements on application). This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your graphic design/illustration, gain experience working towards specific goals, and be creative for a good cause.

What will I do?

  • Create visually appealing graphics for use online, in print and advertising to strengthen the AfSL brand and to promote the charity and its projects

  • Assisting other volunteers to make their own resources; mentoring them through the design and print process.

The role is part of the Green Seeds project which is funded through a Big Lottery grant, to support volunteers and communities within Greater to live more sustainably.
