Hi, I am a Local Project Manager for Levenshulme. I aim to reach people in the Levenshulme area, through organising events which local residents can become involved in and through providing information on sustainable issues. This includes understanding sustainability and how to make it workable for the individual and the community. For sustainability to be appealing to all, it needs to be accessible. My aim is to provide this link so everyone in the area can join in the fun! If this sounds like something you would like to be involved in, please contact me. I try to be sustainable as much as possible, and try to adhere to the three R’s, Reduce, Recycle and Reuse. This can be achieved through simple means, from recycling as much as possible, to re-using materials by creating useful items from packaging, magazines, fabrics etc. I aim to reduce the amount of unnecessary waste going to land fill by encouraging others to be creative and adopt smarter buying methods. My first project in the Levenshulme area will be a swap shop. As the lead coordinator for the SUST swap shop which runs monthly at 8th Day cafe on Oxford Road, I know how popular these events can be, so I am hopeful the Levenshulme swap shop will be just as successful! |
