Chorlton Eco-Refurbishment Course

Are you a home-owner who wants to take practical steps to make your house or flat warmer and less draughty whilst cutting your utility bills, but are not sure how best to go about this?

Chorlton Refurb are running six weekly evening classes on consecutive Thursdays, starting on the 24^th October 2013. The course is designed to build home-owner confidence to do work for themselves or find contractors to do the work for them. There will be a strong emphasis on group learning and practical methods rather than technical information.

This lottery funded initiative is for South residents who are motivated to make a reduction in their home energy usage and improve comfort. There will be a contribution of £20 per person for the course.

Material covered in the course will include:

• Heating, hot water, electricity use & generation
• Insulating, advanced draught proofing and ventilation
• Dealing with contractors

Applicants must own their own home and be ready to start carrying out improvements. Due to limited space applicants are expected to attend all sessions.

No prior experience of carrying out home improvements is required.
