The Green Feast sets the tone for our future events, with a great turn out, food, music and some pirates! Arrrgghh.
On the 28th September, the AfSL team arrived at the Fallowfield Secret Garden to find the Secret Gardeners hosting a group of students who were taking part in a Challenge Network event. The atmosphere was already abuzz before our 3pm Green Feast start time. Things only picked up from there. There was a fantastic soup cooked up by our own Erika Nagae, plenty of entertaining people milling about and even more opportunities for random, fascinating conversations. A group of pirates also wandered in to bring balance to our predominantly land-lubbing group. Following their antics, Jez Jez Jezebella provided the next round of joviality.
The crowd was a diverse one, with lots of people turning up for different reasons. Some for the joy of soup and music, others with an interest in gardening and natural build projects and other regular locals who spend most days in and around the Garden. This all made for an extremely interesting event and one to be repeated. We are even considering the possibility of reformatting some of our other events to be more in-tune with the environment that was created at the Green Feast.
