Longsight is home to vibrant and diverse communities, with numerous active community groups who are working on a range of projects from improving public transport links to tending to the surrounding parks. Now that AfSL has links in Longsight, we hope to show support to these groups. We look forward to hearing ideas on how to promote sustainable living in the area.
LATEST NEWS: Do you want trees planted on your street for free? We are working with residents and the redroseforest group (www.redroseforest.co.uk) to get trees on the streets in Longsight and the surrounding areas. It is a simple step by step process, get in touch if you would like some help getting it going on your street. Nobody has a tree planted outside their house without their consent, the trees are ornamental, so they do not have agressive root systems, they have a narrow trunk, so they do not take up parking space. The trees simply make a road more pleasant, and are likely to increase the value of your property, not to mention the benefits to the environment!
Do you want us to visit your school/club/society in Longsight or the surrounding areas? We can give workshops and games on the topic of sustainable living and maybe throw in some freebies!
