VEGANISM AND CLIMATE CHANGE
A night of films, food and talks...
Veganism is a climate issue, an animal rights issue and a health issue.
Producing one calorie of animal protein requires more than 10 times as
much fossil fuel input as a calorie of plant protein. By rearing animals
to satisfy our appetite for meat and dairy products, we are harming
animals, the planet, future generations and ourselves.
Speakers....
"Diet of Disaster" by Juliet Gellatley (founder & director of Viva! and
the Vegetarian & vegan Foundation).
"Livestock's contribution to environmental problems is on a massive
scale. The impact is so significant that it needs to be addressed with
urgency."United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation 2006
Films including Food for Life and extracts from Not in My Name....
Debate hosted by Elisa Aaltola, PhD and Research Fellow at MMU Cheshire
and Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics,...an analysis of the ethical
framework surrounding animal rights.

A Day of Climate Action that Bites
The food we eat contributes up to a third of the emissions and is
poisoning the planet. It's time for a detox...
We call for groups to take action...markets, free food stalls, workshops,
film showings, street theatre, info stalls, protests, direct action,
cooking demonstrations, talks, allotment shows. Get creative and get
involved!
