Chris Jenkins completed his pemaculture design course in Hulme, in 1999, is an expert in raw food, and is setting up a new business called Life-Force Foods to promote the concept. You are invited to an evening of pemaculture and raw food, at Chris' house, 30 Range Road, Whalley Range. (Click this link: http://snipurl.com/28td4 for a map to Range Rd.)
During the evening Chris will give a talk, and raw food demonstration. We would like you to contribute to a shared meal, by bringing your own raw food ingredients, including diverse salad leaves, sprouted beans, etc. For more inspiration about raw foods please take a look at local lass, Janet Butler's raw food web site at, http://www.freshinthecity.co.uk . (While you are there take a moment to look at her blog as well, for more permaculture amusement ... :-)
30 Range Rd has a large leafy garden, with a fire pit at the end. Following the raw food shared meal experience, we will do a garden tour, and design skills share workshop, in order to:
- identify, and sample edible plants in the garden, and
- think of ways in which permaculture design can be used to diversify, and increase the yields of the garden.
The workshop will be followed by a summer chill out round the fire pit.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
6.30 - arrive
7.00 - raw food talk and demonstration by Chris
7.45 - food to share
8.30 - garden tour and design skill share
9.30 - fire pit and network announcements
