What would you say to a FREE Sustainability Awareness taster session for your staff?
Many businesses, organisations and schools are interested in becoming more ‘eco’ aware. Whether your organisation wants to reduce energy costs, environmental impacts or develop a greener image, Action for Sustainable Living can help.
AfSL’s award winning methods focus on behaviour change and how through education and staff engagement, organisations can take positive steps towards a more sustainable approach.
Our work has included: Working with the Greater Firestations to inspire them around developing community projects and visualising their sustainable firestation; working with the Green Champions group of the Whitworth Art Gallery and Museum; and inspiring Advisors at Rusholme Jobcente Plus to encourage clients into community volunteering.
As of September 2012 we will be offering free inset workshops for staff and teachers at schools in South .
Working with a small number of key staff members, the Green Champions Programme will:
- Increase awareness of sustainability issues and investigate current behaviours;
- Investigate how your sustainable organisation would look;
- Decide on the next steps and overcoming barriers to staff involvement;
- Develop an effective and achievable action plan.
AfSL’s positive and holistic philosophy runs throughout this programme. We believe that by taking small steps towards sustainability, every organisation can effect big and positive changes.
The different strands of the programme are:
- FREE taster session: ‘An introduction to sustainability and your organisation’ – lasting for around 45 minutes – perfect for a lunch break!
- First Steps at Work: A two to three hour workshop developing awareness, ideas, project planning and commitment to making change.
- Follow up sessions: Three months after taking part in First Steps at Work, we reconvene to reflect on progress made; a celebration of successes, difficulties, problem solving and next steps. Following on from this we meet quarterly to review step taken and goals achieved. This style of engagement can produce amazing and long lasting results.
- Bespoke sessions – your organisation may have particular aspects of sustainability that it would like to address. Examples include: embedding sustainability within the whole organisation or involving the community in your sustainability plans.
YOU can choose which of these aspects would best suit your organisation. We can take key elements from the programme and develop a tailored strategy to achieve the results you require.
