What we do

As well as offering volunteers amazing opportunities to make a difference, AfSL provides a comprehensive range of services covering all aspects of living sustainability in a variety of settings. These include:-

Communities: recruiting and supporting local people to raise the profile of sustainability in their neighbourhood by setting up projects and running events.

Schools: by adopting a ‘whole schools’ approach and engaging directly with children through their national curriculum studies wherever possible, energy savings of up to 37% have been achieved.

Housing Associations/RSLs: Training and supporting tenants to work with their friends and neighbours reduce energy usage and save money.

Universities: supporting universities and their students to create exciting projects that improve the environment, save money and provide an opportunity to develop skills.

Businesses: offering a range of workshops and programmes to facilitate positive environmental change within your business, organisation or community. Our motivating Training Coordinators use a tailored approach, this ensures each session is focused on your desired outcomes and relevant to your specific needs.

Based in AfSL has worked with all the Authorities in the Greater area as well as Liverpool, Wrexham and elsewhere. We actively broker partnerships with other agencies to better support local groups in addressing local challenges and developing and implementing local solutions to bring about change.

A credible and committed partner, we have worked with a wide range of local, regional and national partners. In the process we have developed a set of coherent models of service delivery and established a strong track record of delivering real change on the ground. These can be easily replicated elsewhere.
