is an AfSL volunteer group promoting energy awareness in Hulme. HEAT
aims

was Regional Winner in Feb’s NEA/Defra
Awards Scheme and was awarded £2000 which has been used to produce a
newsletter delivered to Hulme residents and will also be used to set up a
database logging local interest in community energy saving schemes. Get involved:

Projects

Loreto College
– Students worked with HEAT in an Energy Awareness Campaign. They will
road show the campaign in Hulme schools next year. -
Hornchurch
Towerblock
– Residents plan to make it “…an exemplar of environmental friendliness and sustainable living, in a
1960's building.” including
an Energy Campaign run with HEAT. -
Zion
Community Health Centre
– HEAT volunteers will assist Zion service-users to save energy through
action campaigns on ‘energy reduction at work and home’. -
Metropolitan University –
HEAT surveyed MMU Hulme Halls of Residence and ran Energy Workshops with MMU
House Staff. Extra funding could develop the campaign next year. -
Hulme
Solar Co-op Study - Urbed,
AfSL and UHC have applied for a grant to research benefits of a Solar Co-op in
