Fairtrade Spring Buffet |
The Spring Buffet was held at Unicorn Grocery in Chorlton on Monday 20th March to mark the end of Fairtrade fortnight and the first day of spring. AFSL Chorlton consultant Anna O'Sullivan and the Chorlton Fairtrade food group organized the evening to raise awareness of food issues and help people make a positive change in their food shopping habits. The evening was a big success and all had a good time. The food was a glorious feast of Fairtrade, organic and vegan produce, The Basement Café supplied the food and I am sure they now have a new group of eager customers! Our panel of experts facilitated interesting discussion on food themed topics as people ate. The evening had a very relaxed and happy feel, and many people commented that it should become a regular evening in Chorlton. If any other groups would like to organize a similar evening then please do get in touch. A big thank you to all of the people who attended and of course our experts:
All donated their time for free and we are very grateful they could come along. Any left over food was composted at the AFSL community allotment, and no dispoable plates, mugs or cups were used. A big thank you also to:
It was a night to be proud of! Anna O'Sullivan
