Chorlton-cum-Hardy

Chorlton is a thriving hub in the south of with plenty of independent shops, bars and restaurants. There are plenty of open, green spaces to enjoy and we are lucky to have access to the local nature reserve, Chorlton Ees.

AfSL would like to continue, further and support the good work being done in Chorlton to make this area a sustainable community - both as a place to live and work, and at the same time retain its unique character and independent retail provision.

Already the Sustainable Chorlton Group (formerly known as Chorlton Fair trade and Food Group) campaigned to get Chorlton Fair trade status in 2006. Since then they have published a report called 'Chorlton Eats' on how to encourage and widen the production and purchase of local, organic and fairly traded food by different communities in Chorlton.

If you can think of any ways you would like to promote sustainable living in Chorlton then please get in touch, AfSL can lend a hand; provide support, advice and encouragement!
