Are you SUST when it comes to fashion?

Sustainable Urban Styles Today is a sustainable fashion event.  The show will include outfits from local designers, fashion students, schools and community groups along with displays from ethical retailers such as Howies, Enamore, Greenfibres and THTC.

It will be a chance to find out what options are available when it comes to sustainable fashion: fair trade, organic, reconditioned and more…

The garment categories are:

• Eco clothes: all alternative materials e.g. hemp, vegan, organic cotton
• Fair Trade: FT mark and ethical co-ops
• Recycled clothes made from reconditioned material
• Recycled clothes made from second hand garments

There will be a Clothing Swap Shop at the event:

• Please donate clothing - bring 2Kg/10 items to the event and you get £2 off your ticket price
• Select 'brand new second hand' items

Plus:

• Displays from local artists
• Stalls from a wide range of Eco and Ethical retailers, with a variety of garments for sale - please bring cash or cheque and guarantee cards, as no credit card service will be available

SUST fashion show is run and managed by AfSL volunteers, with support from AfSL.

Advance Tickets: £7/£5 (if you bring 2Kg/10 items of clothing, or for unwaged, AfSL members and volunteers).  BUY TICKETS ONLINE NOW, or buy in person from:

• Exit clothes shop in Afflecks Palace
• Ellis Brigham ski/outdoor shop in Castlefield
• Kim-by-the-sea cafe in Hulme
• Zion Arts Centre in Hulme
• Arkadash in Chorlton (opposite Unicorn)

To order by post, send details of the tickets you require and a cheque or postal order made payable to "Action for Sustainable Living Limited", to: Action for Sustainable Living, PO Box 382, , M20 2ZU.  Pick up your tickets when you come to the event.

Tickets on the door: £8/£6 (if you bring 2Kg/10 items of clothing, or for unwaged, AfSL members and volunteers). Places are limited, so book now to avoid missing out!

Refunds will be made up to 29^th March, and will be paid by 15^th April, less an administration charge of £2.  Cancellations made after 29^th March are non-refundable

Ethical and eco clothing action group

We are looking for interested people to join a clothing action group

• Are you interested in fashion or anti fashion?
• Fed up of a throwaway society?
• Interested in where your clothes come from and what conditions they were made in?
• Want to help organise a fashion show with a difference?  Planning is well underway for this for a high profile event in in spring 2006
• Would you like to manage SUST Fashion Shows and/or markets in the future?

Band Night - a fundraising event for the SUST fashion show

8.30pm til late, 10^th March, The Carlton Club, Whalley Range, .  £2.50 entry - map

The night will have a range of performances from local artists; ranging through laid back folky-soul at the beginning of the evening from Cortina Deluxe; to a mixture of strum & bass and jazz grunge from Love Panda; and finishing with upbeat funk rock from Urban Rockstar award winners, Little Engine.

All additional funds raised will go towards the running of AfSL's SUST Fashion Show at The Bridgewater Hall on April 4th.

The Carlton Social and Bowling Club in Whalley Range is a non-religious and non-political private member's club for the purposes of social interaction between its members. It has a bowling green, snooker tables, a bar and a dance floor all of which are used for various games and events through the week
