Grow your own in Old Trafford and Chorlton |
Would you like to grow your own fruit or vegetables, but haven’t got a garden? If you live in Old Trafford, why not help us to get the community allotment ready for spring planting. Come down for a dig or a look to find out more about how you can get involved.
Old Trafford Community Allotment has been running for a number of years. The group supported by dedicated local people and Trafford Borough Council have been tending three good sized plots of land at Seymour Grove Allotments in Old Trafford, near Kings Road school. The group have grown all sorts on the site including courgettes, marrows, pumpkins, tomatoes, thyme, potatoes, onions, chilli plants and more. Last year there was also a bumper harvest of pumpkins! AfSL together with other local organisations is helping the group to get more people involved. Join us on a Monday, Thursday or Saturday down on the Plot. If you can't come on one of those days, contact us, we can be flexible to people's needs.
